Our monthly report includes only news that has been officially reported by Iranian media.

According to an Amnesty International report: in the calendar year 2003, the Iranian regime has carried out 108 executions. This is the second highest number of executions carried out by a regime in the world.

 

A- Tribunal Media:

1) Jalile Moqadam Director of ‘Esrar’ (weekly magazine)

2) Mostafah Kazazy Director of ‘Sedayeh Edalat’ newspaper.

3) Ferydoon Amoo-Zadeh Director of ‘Chelcheragh’

4) Goli Shakih Director of ‘Tosaeh’ newspaper.

5) Saeid Madani writing committee of Iran Fardah (Banned magazine)

 

B- Journalist summoned to court:

 

1) Ahmad Nebouyeh Director of ‘Nedayeh Eslehat’ (weekly magazine)

2) Reza Monsaref Director of ‘Avayeh Makoo’ (magazine)

3) Mohammad Javad-Rooh, journalist of a banned newspaper ‘Yas Noh’.

4) Abas Kakavand a former member of, right wing newspaper ‘Resalat’.

5) Hamed Motaghy Director of ‘Naghshineh’ a banned website.

 

C- Sentenced Journalist:

 

1) Ensafali Hedayat, independent journalist

2) Mostafa Sebti Director of Gorgan Emroz

3) Hoshang Mohamad Rhimi-far Director of Shady (monthly magazine), fined a total of one-hundred thousand Tomans.

4) Disallowed the issuing of a student magazine (Tajadod)

5) Banned, Meesagh Sorkh students monthly magazine (Directed by Mr. Farshade Dorosti)

6) Ministry of culture and Islamic guidance, not permitted to publish Bofeh Kore, a handwritten book of a late well-known writer (Sadegh Hadayt)

7) Ministry of culture and Islamic guidance, prohibited the circulation of a mixed audio-musical tape by own voice of a well-know novelist (Mahmod Dolat-Abadi)

E- Students Charged:

 

1) Maysam Golestani, was sentenced to one year imprisonment (Esfahan University)

2) Mohammad-Reza Nasb Abdullahy, was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and fined one million rials (Rafsanjan University)

3) Payman Peeran sentenced to ten years imprisonment.

4) Amir Lagordi, was sentenced seventeen months ago, but at present there is no news of him (Azad University, Tehran)

5) Cyrus Mohammadi, was sentenced to a year in prison (Abou-Ali Seenah University, Hamedan)

6) Mohammad Mojdzadeh, was sentenced to three years imprisonment (Abou-Ali Seenah University Hamedan)

7) Farhad Dehghan, Shiraz University, sentenced to six months imprisonment (Shiraz University)

8) Two students where charged to 30 lashes each (Tabriz University)

 

F- Students sentenced by disciplinary court:

 

1) Mohsen Alooti (Razi University, Kermanshah)

2) Emran Parandahgt, (Razi University, Kermanshah)

3) Hatem Mohammadi (Razi University, Kermanshah)

4) Naemat Behzadi (Razi University, Kermanshah)

5) Ali-Reza Meradi (Razi University, Kermanshah)

6) Abou-Elfazal (Eroumieh University)

7) Eight students were excluded for two semesters from their university and in addition were forced to make a compulsory move to another University (Seestan and Baloochestan University).

8) Arak Open University Security guard prevented a student’s poetry event from taking place.

9) An anniversary memorial for a well-known political figure (Khosroh Goleh-Sorkhy, executed during the Shah’s reign) was banned by Zanjan University supervisory council.

 

G) Interrogation of MP’s:

 

1) Behzad Naboei (MP from Tehran).

2) Jamileh Kadevar (MP from Tehran).

3) Ali-Akbar Mosooyeh Ghoeini (MP from Tehran).

4) Jalil Sazkar-Nejad (MP from Tehran).

5) Bahe-Aldin Adab (MP from Tehran).

6) Jaefar Kamboziyah (MP from Tehran).

7) Mohammad Yehganeli (MP from Tehran).

 

H- Politic, Cultural and Social Activists that have been summoned, investigated or imprisoned:

15) Nine cinema actors were put on trial for going to a party in Tehran.

16) The teaching of music lesson for women in Chahar Mahal Baghtiari was prohibited.

17) Banned two weddings in Bandar Anzali and Rasht.

18) Fatemeh Hagheghat-Jou (a former MP (in actual fact she resigned))

19) Banned a lecture of Saed Razavi Faghi.

20) Ebrahim Moameni a prisoner for 20 months without anyone knowing.

2) Mehrdad –Lahar-Asbi, a student from Tehran has been imprisoned for the last 5 years.

3) Doctor Jamshid Ameeni needs surgery on his liver (Tehran).

2) Eight people were injured in the city of Mareevan due to gunfire from security officials.

2) A young person in the city of Sari.
